Blazers, Blazers, Blazers

Blazers are thee best completer piece for an outfit. They can be dressed up real nice or dressed down for a more casual look. Blazers can be a little pricey but the key is to know where to look!

These blazers are all from consignments shops and such, so I got them for pretty good prices. The beige one on the left was 6$ from D.I. It can go with pretty much any top because its a neutral tone. Beware of shoulder pads when you are shopping for blazers at consignment shops (or in general) because they could be unflattering. The light pink blazer in the middle is originally from Forever 21 but I got it at the D.I. for 8$! I wear it with navy blue or white because the polka dot pattern on the inside is white and navy blue. The gray one on the end is from a little consignment shop in Provo, Utah called Trendy Exchange
(10$). This blazer is also a neutral color so it can be worn with virtually anything!

This look could be used for a dressier occasion because of the type of shirt under the blazer. The shirt (6$ at a consignment shop) is a silk tank top with ties in the front (which are currently tied in a bow!) by Ann Taylor, found at JCPenny, Dillard's, Macy's, etc. This look plus pants and shoes would cost 40-50$.

This outfit is a little more casual it the way it looks. The flowered blouse (featured in a previous post of mine) paired with the teal scarf (also featured in a previous post of mine) gives the look a more carefree vibe because of the way the scarf is placed and the looseness of the shirts body. This outfit plus shoes and jeans would cost 50-60$

This silk shirt and scarf combo give this blazer a fancier look. The necklace gives this outfit a sparkle. The navy blue silk shirt (4$ Ann Taylor from a consignment shop) pulls the color out of the pattern on the reversed/rolled sleeves of the blazers. The scarf (12$ from Maurice's) finishes the outfit with a modern, popular look. This look with pants and shoes would cost 30-40$.

Using the same blazer as the dressier look above, I created a casual look for everyday wear. This striped navy blue and white tank top (8$ from Papaya) gives the outfit a more fun and interesting look when paired with this starfish necklace and pink blazer. This outfit paired with white jeans and shoes would cost 35-45$.

Wardrobe Starters

Looking to revamp your wardrobe? Or even demolish and start new? Well these five items are definitely good basics for anyone woman's wardrobe because they can start or finish any outfit! The first item on the left is a cream sweater vest (American Eagle 15$). Over a printed blouse or under a jacket this vest would steal the show. The next item over is just a plain white T (Walmart 3$). It is cotton and a little bit of spandex so it is still nice enough to wear to school or work (depending on your job). It is a great base for a patterned tank top or under a jacket or sweater. The possibilities with this T are endless. The sweater (Aeropostale 6$ on sale) in the middle is probably one of my favorite things in my closet! It is creamy white and pretty long (past belt loops). I wear it over pretty much any shirt. The next item over is my studded chambray (JCPenney 3$ on sale). Chambrays are really in style now because they go with anything (and their adorable!). Jean is considered a neutral so it can be worn with any outfit! The last one on the right is a black blazer (Rue21 7$ on sale). Blazers are also very popular now because they have the ability to be casual or dressy. Notice that all of these items are neutral colors. These are basics because their colors and styles will go with ANYTHING! Endless possibilities...

Look Better with Little Effort

Taking a little time each day before you run out the door to tuck in your shirt or cuff your pants can make a big difference in the look or "put-togetherness" of an outfit. Here is an example! This first outfit isn't an ugly outfit at all, but can look even better with a few changes! Notice that between these two pictures I didn't add anything to my outfit to make it look better. I just used what I already had on. All I did was roll the sleeves of my blouse, cuffed my pants above my ankle booties, and tied the ends of my scarf together to make it appear as an infinity scarf! Five minutes of rearranging an outfit can help you look better and more stylish without a whole lot of effort and no money (besides what you paid for the clothing).

Another outfit under 50$!!
Shirt- A boutique in California called 'Q' (10$). Pants- JCPenney (15$). Boots- Rue21 (7$). Scarf- Ross (10$).
