Summer Skirts: Maxis

I dont know about you, but I hate wearing pants in the summer! Where I live it gets up to 110 degrees most days so pants arent really an option. I catch myself reaching for sports shorts alot during the hot summer months, but I stop myself and think; skirts are great for keeping cool and they look great on anyone! My favorite type of skirts for summer are maxi skirts (if you get the right kind with light flowy material). If your tall, like me, you might have trouble finding them long enough (you want them to touch the ground when your not wearing shoes). What I do is either by one size bigger than what I usually wear, or I get fabric at my nearest fabric store and make the skirts. The best material to buy if your going to make one is jersey knit. The ones I will show you today are store bought. Im in the process of making some and they're not done yet.

This first outfit could be worn anywhere. Its a very casual outfit. I got the cheetah print ombre skirt at JcPenney for 7$ on sale and with a coupon! It is a cool, light, airy fabric (polyester) that doesnt make you hot. The top half of the outfit consists of a cotton white tank top (JcPenney 5$) and an unbuttoned button-up (Nope, you dont have to wear button-ups buttoned up!).

Another ombre maxi skirt! This one is made of the same material as the one above so its nice and light and will keep you cool in the summer. The polka dot tank top is a light cotton material, under a white button-up. I tied the ends together to give it a unique and modern look!

This next maxi skirt outfit is made up of a simple shirt, simple scarf and a not so simple looking skirt! I love skirts with patterns because all you have to do is throw on a plain top and add an accesory and your good to go! This maxi skirt is from Ross, an amazing store with really good prices! This skirt only cost me $9! This top, from Rue21, was on sale for 3$ and is featured in many of my other posts because it goes great with lots of things!

Thanks for reading! I hope this helps!
