♥ Threadflip ♥

I have recently discovered an awesome website called Threadflip where you can buy and sell clothing!

How it works: You can upload a picture of the item of clothing you want to sell, fill in a simple form and then your designer or vintage item is listed in an easy-to-use place. When someone purchases one of your items, Threadflip emails you (the seller) a prepaid USPS shipping label. Once the buyer receives the item, the seller’s account is credited after a five day satisfaction period. The seller can cash out the money or use the funds towards future purchases on Threadflip. There is one bummer about this website though...Threadflip takes 20% of each your sales, but all the other sites I have checked out are the same way. Come check out my Fancy That Style store on Threadflip. I am constantly out growing my clothing so some items I have blogged about before are going to up for grabs!

I really hope you check out Threadflip! Its a great way to recycle your clothing!

Arm Candy: Stacking Bracelets and Watches

I love the look of stacked bracelets, and wear them almost everyday. You don't have to have a ton of different bracelets and watches to have a variety of stacked looks. These 9 examples I'm going to show you are all created with only 6 different watches and 12 different bracelets. You can create millions of different combinations with that many options but I'm just going to show you my favorites. Most of these looks are inspired by pictures on Pinterest. I would pick a picture of a stacked look on Pinterest and try to create something similar with  bracelets and watches I already had, and I hope you can do the same with what I'm about to show you!

In this first look I paired my coral watch with a simple diamond band and a gold bangle. I love the way this feels because its pretty neutral with the pop of color coming from the coral watch!

This is definitely my favorite stack. It is pretty fancy and would be perfect for a night on the town! This white Geneva watch has been placed with a jewel encrusted band and pearl strewn bracelet, creating an eye catching look.

I usually wear this next look with one of my dad old sweaters in the fall and winter. I love the big face on the watch and the green ''snakeskin'' bracelet. It is pretty casual (even tho it has pearls) and could be worn to everyday events.

This combination is simple and classy. It consists of only 3 items but it is still eye catching. The small, silver framed watch face ties in the silver on the other to bracelets, and pulls the whole look together.

This look does not contain a watch but instead has a large wrap bracelet (Buckle) to fill the watches spot. The wrap bracelet has been placed with a 'Paris' inspired bracelet and a simple band of fake diamonds to create a fancier vibe.

In these next few combinations I only changed one element to give the whole look a different feel. Its crazy how switching out one bracelet can create such a different vibe.

Hope this has sparked your creative mind! If you have any questions or comments let me know!

Hair Bows

Hair bows are definitely trending this season and I think they are really cute and could definitely complete outfits. I started looking around to see where I could buy them. I eventually found them but the stores wanted $5+ for one bow. I thought that was a bit much; I asked my sister Kaylyn (She has an awesome store on Etsy) how to make them with some left over fabric I had from my maxi skirts and refashioned items. It took about 2 mins to make one and it was super easy! The bows turned out great so I thought "Why not share this money saving idea?". So here it is:

First find some material that you like. You really don't need that much. Depending on the size of bow you want to make, cut out a square 3-6 inches long.

Don't worry about straight lines because the cut lines wont show in the finished product. In this example I cut out about a 3'' square because I wanted to make a smaller bow. I chose a navy blue and white material in honors of Independence day. This material was an old shirt until I made a scarf out of the lower half.

After cutting out the square take the top edge and fold it to the middle and glue it down with a hot glue dot right in the middle.

Tip: Use as little glue as possible because the glue dries hard and it will be difficult to fold later on if there is to much hardened dry glue.

Then take the bottom edge and fold that to the middle as well

Then rotate the piece of material 90* and fold the top and bottom of the edges into the middle and secure the fold with a dot of hot glue.

Take a thin strip of the same fabric and glue it around the center of the square. Pull it tight and glue it down, slide a bobby pin in the back and you've got yourself a hair-bow!

Happy 4th! Hope this made sense!

Independence Day 2013

I put together 6 outfits that I think are absolutely perfect for the 4th of July! Independence Day is a holiday to celebrate our country so why not celebrate in style? I want to thank my little sister and her friend for being my gorgeous models today! In this first look I had Alli throw on some jean shorts from Aeropostale, a lacy blouse, the Bongo vest (featured in my Thrift shop post), and to pull it all together; a red scarf! This outfit is perfect for watching a parade or celebrating with friends!

This next outfit ,modeled on McKenna, is also casual in the way it looks and comes together. She is wearing a white top from Ross, robin-egg blue shorts from Jcpenney, a red Boho headband! Definitely barbecue worthy!

These next two outfits are more dressy and could be worn to a party or to watch fireworks! McKenna is seen here wearing a navy blue, polka dot, hi-low skirt (Ross), with a white shirt. To complete the outfit she threw on a red scarf that she made from an old t-shirt. And since watches are so in right now she added to the outfit when she put on a white watch (Rue21).

McKenna also made this maxi skirt that Alli is wearing. Its white and red striped, perfect for the 4th! She paired with a dark wash chambray and white accessories.

These next outfits were the girls' favorite ones. Alli is wearing a shirt from Aeropostale that i refashioned about a week ago. She wore it with some jean shorts and a pretty red scarf. This would be a perfect outfit for barbecuing with the family.

McKenna's outfit is a little dressier than Alli's was but its still great for 4th of July fun! She is wearing a navy blue button up (featured in my Maxi Skirt post), red jeans from Jcpenney, and striped ballet flats.

 Have an awesome Independence day!!
